Testimonials

I was happy to be part of the celebration of all participants of the 2019 Climate Control Awards and, once again, would like to congratulate all the winners.

The Awards showcased the remarkable talent, innovation and ambition of Middle East-based and Middle East-serving companies, organizations and individuals towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonizing the economy. In the fight against climate change, all of us are winners.

Despite the many efforts towards a more sustainable world, much work remains to be done. Continued application and implementation of cost-effective, climate-friendly solutions is critical to reaching our collective goals. Here, the Awards helped bring people together to share ideas and highlight best practices, sending a strong message of hope for the future. The Awards event showed us that we have the tools necessary. Now, it is critical to continue bringing them to the world and rolling them out.

We thank the Ministry of Energy & Industry in UAE; Bin Khadim, Radha & Co.; JohnsonControls; Emicool; AHRI; Eurovent Certita Certification; Leminar Global; Rheem Manufacturing; Voltas; Hamon; Smart Automation Energy; ABB; Al Hadara; G. This award is genuinely an honor, not just because it distinguishes the elite of the HVACR industry, but also because it is a yearly benchmark of the HVACR performance derived by measures of innovation and sustainability, backing up the healthy and comfortable societies that we are part of.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the world is taking strides to face the challenges of climate change and pollutants that are way even more polluting than carbon dioxide, and to support the need for a green energy revolution and of a changing global economy.

Every little effort counts, every big effort is inevitable as a measure of mitigation of climate change.

Therefore, the Ministry of Energy & Industry, being part of the energy policy and the society of UAE, has a deep dive in energy efficiency and the consumer sector, which makes a demand for energy in buildings, industry and transport. Looking at our business-as-usual approach and electricity growth forecast, while considering the climate conditions of the region, we know that achieving cost-effective and environmentally friendly HVACR systems are a backbone of almost every socio-economic activity in place, be it in our buildings, cities or industries. This requires an agile approach with a focus on technology and innovation; design; urban planning, operations and maintenance, retrofits programs; consultancies and even entrepreneurs and kick-starters for this ecosystem to shape up and create the positive impact we are seeking for efficient cooling systems; fewer chemical pollutants; and lower, if not zero, food loss and food wastage.

We are looking forward to the year 2021, as the UAE government has set ambitious targets in all aspects, with a focus on sustainability and the wellbeing of people. We are also looking to 2030 as a midway target challenging our business-as-usual approach to reach efficient scenarios in both energy and water. We are also envisioning 2050 as the timeframe for splitting the energy mix to 50% renewable energy and 40% reduction in demand. It is not as easy as it sounds. Awards, like the Climate Control Awards, will leave a mark every time they occur, highlighting new areas of strength in this transitioning market”.
